A Preview of the Acer CloudMobile
The Acer CloudMobile is an odd device, having been crowned the iF design award 2012 ahead of Acer's official MWC announcement.
Still, we can certainly see why the phone was recognised for it's design so early on, as the CloudMobile sports a unique rounded chrome-edged body, housing a gorgeous 4.3-inch HD touchscreen.
Acer may not be a fore-runner on the UK smartphone scene, but the handset will arrive running the latest version of Google's Android software - officially known as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Although unconfirmed, were assuming this will come skinned in Acer's home-grown custom UI, equipping the phone with 3D-widgets, cover flow-style history and Acer's SocialJogger application.
The rest of the phone's specs remain a bit of a mystery, although there's talk of a sub 10mm-thick casing, Dolby Sound and a yet-unspecified rear-facing camera. Acer has confirmed, however, that it'll be the first phone to offer AcerCloud technology, which the company claims enhances mobile productivity by providing seamless document management.
The Acer CloudMobile is expected to get the official nod at Mobile World Congress 2012.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
