A Preview of the BlackBerry London

18th November 2011

The BlackBerry London is the rumoured guise for Research In Motion's first BBX smartphone, and it's expected to reach the market in Q3 2011.

Set to replace the previously mooted Colt, the BlackBerry London is an unusual device. The handset sports a bizarre angular casing reminiscent of the Porsche-designed P'9981 handset, and will launch in a stylish silver and black flavour.

Within its QWERTY casing, the London supposedly houses a large 4.x-inch capacitive screen. This will be powered by a speedy 1.5GHz dual-core processor, making this device the fastest BlackBerry yet. Of course, this will also come coupled with RIM's BBX software, equipping the phone with a PlayBook-style interface, HTML5 support, and a new-found emphasis on 3D gaming.

The phone's media smarts don't end there. Although RIM usually focuses on business features and physical keypads, the London will reportedly tout an impressive 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera and 16GB of built-in memory.

Research In Motion are yet to confirm the handset's specifications, so we'll bring you more details as soon as we get them.

A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
