A Preview of the HP Veer
The tiny HP Veer promises to "fit in your pocket with room to spare", and measures in at no larger than a credit card with dimensions of 84 x 54.5 x 15.1 mm.
It may be small, but the teen-focused HP Veer still manages to pack a 2.6 inch 320 x 400 capacitive touchscreen, alongside a slide-out QWERTY keypad for speedy messaging. With webOS 2.2 onboard, the compact screen feature's HP's "Deck of Cards" multitasking display, and provides live updates straight from Facebook and Twitter.
Backed up by its 800MHz processor, the Veer also sports a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera capable of recording video, although lacks the front-facing snapper of its Pre 3 sibling. When you're not behind the camera, the HP Veer comes equipped with an integrated media player for viewing back movies, as well as Adobe Flash 10.1 support for streaming footage straight from the web. The handset also arrives with 8GB of internal storage, but sadly no room to expand.
Connectivity wise, HP's entry-level smartphone comes equipped with Bluetooth 2.1, HSDPA and WiFi speeds, ideal for accessing the web and sending emails. Also taking advantage of its 3G connectivity is its integrated GPS, offering on-the-go navigation.
The HP Veer will be hitting the UK in Q3 2011.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
