Recently Released HTC Mobile Phones
Formerly named the Hong-Ta Corporation, HTC are a Taiwanese based mobile phone manufacturer. The company was founded in 1997 by Cher Wang and Peter Chou, and although they were initially focussed on the production of notebook computers, they made a push towards mobile phones in 1998. On February 17, 2010, Fast Company ranked HTC as the 31st most innovative company in the world, and they accounted for 39% of Android smartphone shipments in Q1-Q3 2010.
HTC's first major product launched in 2000, and was one of the world's first touchscreen smartphones. They have a heritage of firsts under their belt, as HTC were also the first manufacturer to launch a Microsoft powered smartphone in 2002, the first Microsoft 3G phone in 2005 and the first Android-powered handset in 2008, otherwise known as the HTC Dream.
In June 2010, the company launched the HTC Evo, the first 4G capable phone in the United States. They also started working with Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 OS, in which they released a handful of handset to coincide with the platform's UK launch on October 21st 2010.
