Offering more social smarts than your average Android smartphone, the Salsa comes with a dedicated Facebook key for instantly firing off updates
A Preview of the HTC Salsa
Though most modern smartphones come with access to social networking, HTC has taken things one step further. The unusually named Salsa features a dedicated Facebook key, providing one touch access to updating your status, uploading photos and tagging your location. For example, if you've just taken a snapshop using the handset, one touch of the little blue button will send it off straight to your Facebook profile. There's also an IM client onboard, used specifically with Facebook Chat.
Besides social networking, the HTC Salsa is still a great smartphone. a 3.4 inch touchscreen, and its Android 2.3 skin is dressed with HTC Sense UI. With Gingerbread onboard, there's also VoiP support, alongside integrated GPS, built-in Google widgets and access to the Android Market.
When you're not busy nattering, there's a 5 megapixel round the back embedded into the handset's multi-coloured back panel, complete with autofocus, LED flash and video capture. There's also a built in music player for on the go entertainment, alongside a YouTube client and Flash support for movie playback.
That's not all, as the HTC Salsa also packs a 600MHz processor, HSDPA and WiFi speeds and up to 32GB storage via microSD.
The HTC Salsa is due to arrive in the UK in Summer 2011.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
