A Preview of the Huawei Blaze
Following in the footsteps of ZTE, Huawei has announced plans to release its first own-branded handset - the Huawei Blaze - in the UK.
Although its full specifications are still to be confirmed, Huawei has confirmed that the bargain-priced handset will arrive in Blighty running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), equipping it with all the usual Google goodies (Search, Gmail, Android Market). If anything like its Huawei Vision sibling, this'll come skinned in the manufacturer's 3D carousel interface allowing you to access all the panels of your homescreen with a single swipe.
According to the Chinese phone-maker, the Huawei Blaze will also come sporting a 3.2-inch touchscreen, paired with three capacitive shortcut keys and a central home button. Also expect to see a 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing video-cal shooter, and 512MB of onboard memory.
Huawei is reportedly in talks with O2, Everything Everywhere (Orange and T-Mobile) and Vodafone to offer the handset, although the networks' support is still to be confirmed. Once released in September 2011, it'll also be available from Huawei directly.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
