A Preview of the Huawei Vision

23rd August 2011

Huawei has revealed that it plans to launch its first high-end smartphone in the UK, which'll officially land dubbed the Huawei Vision.

Although its specs are still to be confirmed, the hotly-anticipated handset has already firing up the rumour mill. According to online speculation, it'll arrive rocking a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen, which will display Huawei's "own custom 3D interface". This'll apparently be similar to HTC Sense 3.0 UI, offering swirling 3D widgets and fancy rotating menus.

Huawei's custom skin will be placed atop its Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. With Google's latest platform onboard, we can expect it to come with a refined interface with notifications toolbar, "one-touch" word selection copy and paste, and support for both NFC and VoIP calls.

Media-wise, the Vision will sport a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, capable of capturing 720 HD footage. This'll be paired with a front-facing camera, alongside microSD memory expansion - presumably up to 32GB.

Other rumoured specifications include a 1GHz single-core processor, Bluetooth connectivity, and HSDPA and WiFi internet.

Although not official, the Huawei Vision is expected to drop in the second half of 2011, and will fetch between £250 and £400 SIM free. It's exact release date and network support however, is still to be confirmed.

A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
