The LG Optimus Black boasts a Nova screen within its feather-light casing, which offers the "brightest and most readable display" on the market
A Preview of the LG Optimus Black
The LG Optimus Black is the latest addition to LG's Android line-up, measuring in as one of the world's thinnest smartphones at just 9.2mm thick.
It may be slim, but the handset's selling point is its 4 inch NOVA display, which LG has premiered on the Optimus Black. They claim this fancy new tech offers the brightest and most readable display on the market, while reducing the power consumption of traditional LCD touchscreens by 50 percent.
It's 4 inch screen is coupled with LG's "one-touch" Optimus UI, which offers instant access to the handset's hoard of entertainment features. These include a rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video capture, a 2 megapixel front-facing snapper, WiFi Direct and up to 32GB of storage for all of your music and videos.
While the LG Optimus Black will sport Android 2.2 out of the box, an early upgrade to Gingerbread (2.3) has been promised.
As its name suggests, the LG Optimus Black is likely to be available in one colour only (at least we hope so in order to avoid a "White LG Optimus Black"!), with an ETA of Q1-Q2 2011.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
