A Preview of the Motorola Gleam+
The Motorola Gleam+, as its name implies, is the sequel to the original Motorola Gleam - a phone we championed thanks to its retro design and old-school feature set.
As you'd expect, the Gleam+ promises to improve on the original. At 13.5mm thick its thinner than its older brother, despite packing the same retro clamshell design which is available in both Silver and Winter White. The from of the handset is home to an upgraded LED matrix, which expressed notifications and alerts, or can simply be used as make-shift clock.
Flip open the phone and you'll be greeted by a larger 2.8-inch LCD display, which boasts a reasonable 480 x 800 pixel resolution. This will display Motorola's proprietary feature phone software, which promises to be simply enough for even mobile-newbies to get their head around. Of course, this screen comes paired with a traditional alphanumeric keypad too, ideal for those not good with touchscreens or BlackBerry-style QWERTY keyboards.
Looking for some entertainment on the go? The Motorola Gleam Plus is also home to a 2 megapixel camera capable of shooting video footage, an FM radio, an MP3 player and up to 16GB of expandable storage for your ever-growing music collection. You'll also find a decent 750mAh battery, which should keep the phone juice for up to 5 hours of constant talk time.
The Motorola Gleam+ will be released in Germany in March 2012, although UK release date details remain to be confirmed.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
