A Preview of the Motorola Pro Plus
As its name suggests, the Motorola Pro+ is an upgraded version of the original Motorola Pro - which will no longer see a release here in the UK.
Not to worry though, as the Motorola Pro Plus - announced at IFA in Berlin - arrives touting a higher-resolution 3.1-inch (480 x 640) touchscreen, complete with a protective layer of Gorilla Glass on top. This is paired against a BlackBerry-style portrait QWERTY keypad, and powered by a bumped-up 1GHz single-core processor.
As you'd expect, the Motorola Pro Plus runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), complete with some custom Motorola tweaks onboard. Of course, it still comes equipped with all of the usual Google goodies too, including; social networking integration, support for multiple email accounts, and access to the all-important Android Market.
Although it's a phone aimed a Facebook'ing and firing off emails, it still comes with a bunch of media smarts too. There's a 5 megapixel camera on the rear complete with autofocus and dual-LED flash, 4GB of internal memory (expandable to 32GB), and HSDPA and WiFi connectivity for browsing the web at super-fast speeds.
Other confirmed specifications include; integrated GPS, a built-in stereo FM radio, Adobe Flash Player 10.3 support, and a 1600mAh battery.
The Motorola Pro Plus is expected to land in late October, sporting a £400 SIM free price-tag.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
