HTC Hero owners may receive Android 2.1 update soon

According to Engadget, owners of the HTC Hero in Taiwan have now received the Android 2.1 update. This is expected to be the final OS update for the device as HTC have only pledged to provide Android 2.2 (Froyo) for 2010 devices, which the Hero is not.

We don’t know when UK owners of the Hero can expect the Android 2.1 update, but this progress in Taiwan could infer that it’s coming soon.
