Samsung i5500 Galaxy 5 to be called Samsung Galaxy Europa

2 weeks ago we reported on Samsung’s announcement of three new handsets in the Galaxy series. One of those was the i5500 also referred to as the Samsung Galaxy 5.

It seems Samsung have changed their mind about the name. According to a preview page on the Carphone Warehouse website this is an exclusive device to CPW and it’s called the Samsung Galaxy Europa (they actually call it Galaxy i5500 Europa, Galaxy i5500 and Samsung Europa on the same page but why make things even more confusing).

The Samsung Galaxy Europa is an Android powered handset with a 2.8 inch touch screen, 3G, WiFi and a 2 megapixel camera. Clearly an entry level Android touch screen mobile phone, we are excited to see what it’s actually called when it’s launched. Arrival is expected in July.
