LG have today announced two new Android-based smartphones will be coming to the UK; the LG Optimus One and the Optimus Chic.
The two handsets were initially launched back in July, but LG have now confirmed they will be coming over to the UK. Both handsets will be powered using Android 2.2 and optimized for Google Mobile Services including; Google Voice Search, Google Goggles and Google Maps.
The LG Optimus One is set to feature a cool new feature called LG App Advisor, a search tool which recommends 10 of the most highly rated apps every couple of weeks. It is also to come equipped with a 3MP camera.
As the name suggests, the LG Optimus Chic is the more stylish and sleek of the two handsets, featuring capacitive soft buttons compared to the hard menu keys of the Optimus One. It will also come equipped better with a more impressive 5MP camera.
The LG Optimus One and Optimus Chic each to feature a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen, and are both set to sync with Outlook calender, offer both 3G and WiFi connectivity and will have access to over 80,000 apps in the Android market.
Not only have LG gone and announced two exciting new smartphones, they have also confirmed they are in the process of a tablet. CEO and president of LG Mobile Skott Ahn states: “LG is currently definitely working on a tablet. We arequite confident that we will provide the best of its kind when we are ready”. We have no other details of the upcoming device as of yet.
No official release date has been announced as of yet for the two smartphones, but we can expect the LG Optimus One to arrive in October, with the Optimus Chic to follow a month later.
