Angry Birds Christmas edition incoming

Rovio have hinted that a Christmas edition of Angry Birds could be landing any anytime now, via their official Twitter page.

In response to a query about a whether a festive edition of the game was in the works, Rovio responded by hinting that “it’s not Christmas yet”. Last week the developers revealed that an updated version of the app would be landing this week, and we’re now almost certain that this will bring with it a Christmas special.

Rovio have also let slip that this week’s release will be “the next big thing for all platforms”, so if true, we can expect the Christmas edition to land on Android, iOS and Symbian devices.

No specifics regarding the upcoming release have been revealed, although if it’s anything like their recent Halloween version, we can expect to see the welcome addition of some holiday-related visuals and festive music.

Users of the HTC Wildfire may also be able to join in on the festive fun, as Rovio also recently revealed that their next release would feature support for smaller QVGA displays.
