HP‘s new platform, webOS 2.0, looks set to arrive on all Palm handsets in “coming months”.
Speaking at webOS Developer Day in New York, Palm developer Josh Marinacci said that web2.0 OS will be landing on all Palm devices in “coming months”, following its recent debut on the Palm Pre 2. We assume “all” refers to the Palm Pre, Pre Plus, Pixi and the Pixi Plus, and not outdated handsets such as the Treo 650. No official release date for the OTA update was mentioned, although we’re likely to see it shortly into the new year.
Once the update is downloaded, older Palm handsets will be equipped with Adobe Flash 10.1 support, true multitasking, social networking integration and Just Type, which allows users to type out an email or text message without having to open the app.
