Sony Ericsson has confirmed it will be adding a new range of Mini handsets t0 its popular Xperia series in the next 12 months, good news for those of you ridden with Android 2.1.
Speaking exclusively to Pocket-Lint, the manufacturer revealed that more Mini handsets are definitely on the bill for 2011. Steven Walker, (acting) head of global marketing at Sony Ericsson, said: “We believe in the concept of product lines and the idea of creating a product experience that will last beyond one hardware generation”, adding that, “There will be subsequent generations of products in these lines as well. We will see new Minis in the future”.
Walker’s statement confirms rumours that Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 Mini range will be getting a makeover, after a successor to the X10 Mini Pro leaked onto the web earlier this week. The unnamed handset is expected to launch, amongst other new Xperia handsets, with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) at next month’s Mobile World Congress.
