Apple has scheduled its latest fan-baiting even for March 2nd, with all signs pointing towards an iPad 2 reveal.
According to All Things D, who scooped the news of the event, Apple is planning to unveil its second-generation tablet one week today, despite reports that the tablet could be facing delays. Reuters and The New York Times have also confirmed the date, with Apple insiders saying the bash will be held, as ever, in San Francisco.
It might be time to start queuing outside San Francisco’s Convention Centre, as the Cupertino-based company are expected to unveil something pretty special at next week’s event, in a bid to fight of Google-branded competition in the form of the Motorola Xoom and LG Optimus Pad.
Following month’s of rumour and gossip, the Apple iPad 2 is expected to feature a slimmer form factor to its predecessor, a dual-core processor, front and rear-facing cameras, HD video capture, a “non-smudge” screen, integrated NFC tech, a 3 axis gyroscope for advanced gaming and a capacitive stylus, similar to that found on the HTC Flyer.
Its launch date may be all but confirmed, but still no word on the iPad 2′s pricing or availability.
