The HTC Wildfire S has received a £40 price-drop ahead of its release, which now look sets to happen sooner than expected.
It’s a good day for fans of the second-gen Wildfire, as it can now be bought for just £229.99, a whole forty-pounds cheaper than its original price-tag.The handset can also be grabbed two weeks earlier than we were previously anticipating, as Play.com have pegged the blower with a May 13th release date.
It may be a “mid-range” smartphone, but the HTC Wildfire S certainly isn’t lacking in features. The Gingerbread-toting handset arrives packing a 600MHz processor, a 3.2 inch 320 x 480 LCD display, HTC Sense 3.0 UI, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with flash, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, a 1230mAh battery, and up to 32GB of storage via microSD.
Once available next month, the HTC Wildfire S will be available to order on subsidized deals with Orange, T-Mobile, Three and Vodafone. Although unconfirmed, it’s likely to fetch around £20.00/month, cheaper than its higher-specced Desire S sibling.
