Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo delays confirmed, coming in July

April 8th, 2011

Sony Ericsson Xperia NeoClove has confirmed that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo will see month-long delays, following disruption caused by the Japanese earthquake.

The UK retailer has revealed that the Xperia Neo won’t be landing until July, three months later than originally expected. Clove states:

“We published this information on good faith, but since this post, there has been discussion of delays and we have now had official confirmation from Sony Ericsson that the Neo will not be launched until July in the UK market.”

“The reason? Disruption to the supply chain as a result of the disaster in Japan.  They are working to find alternative supply solutions, but at this time, July is the earliest release date that Sony Ericsson wish to commit too”.

That’s not the only bad news the retailer revealed, as the Xperia arc and Xperia Play could also be affected. Suffering from the same “supply issues”, the Android blowers will reportedly be “will be in very short supply over the coming weeks”.

Still, Sony Ericsson has advised Clove that this situation “could change” and supply lines could be replenished between now and July, although it’s not looking hopeful for early-adopters of the Xperia Neo.
