April 18th, 2011

Samsung Galaxy S IIO2 has revealed that it’ll soon be stocking the Samsung Galaxy S2, ahead of the handset’s release in just two weeks time.

The UK network has added the Galaxy S2 to its “Coming Soon” page amongst the Xperia arc and Xperia Play, pegging the handset with a “May” release, although keeping schtum on its pricing. O2 joins both Three and Vodafone, who will also be backing the flagship smartphone.

Just last week, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S II would pack a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU upon its UK arrival, which despite boasting the same amount of horsepower as the HTC Sensation, came out on top in a recent speed test.

It’ll also arrive sporting a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video capture, a front-facing webcam, HSDPA and WiFi speeds, integrated NFC smarts, and either 16GB or 32GB of storage. All that, and the handset measures in at just 8.9mm thick.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is currently available to pre-order from £27.45/month, ahead of its arrival on May 1st.
