T-Mobile has announced that it’ll be releasing Android 2.2 for the Motorola Defy in early July, just one week after the update went live.
Customers with Vodafone or SIM free handsets may already have the update, but T-Mobile has remained tight-lipped regarding its release. Once the over-the-air (OTA) update lands, users of the life-proof smartphone with notice a number of significant changes. For starters, you’ll be able to save apps to a microSD card, and from now on, applications will be updated automatically. Froyo also brings Adobe Flash support to the Motorola’s 2012 flagship, enabling you to watch Flash content straight from your smartphone.
According to Moto, Android 2.2 will also deliver Profiles feature enables users to customise three sets of homescreens, along with LinkedIn integration and an all-new Task Manager. You’ll also find a redesigned Gallery app, a bumped-up onscreen QWERTY, ‘Dialler Search’, and enhanced speed and battery performance.
Once released, you should receive an update message on your Defy handset. If not, head on over to the Settings menu or the Motorola Update software – where Froyo should appear in all its glory.
