Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro delayed until October

Sony Ericsson Xperia ProThe ongoing saga that is the Xperia Pro‘s release date continues, as the Carphone Warehouse has revealed further delays for the QWERTY-toting smartphone.

Last month we heard that the handset was delayed until Q3 2011, despite expectations for a ‘Late July’ release. However, the Carphone Warehouse has now pegged the Pro with a Q4 release date, and claims it’ll won’t be landing until October. However, Sony Ericsson’s website is still promising July delivery, so we’ve been in touch with them for further information.

If you’re desperate to get your hands on an Android QWERTY-slider, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro could be worth waiting for. It comes rocking a 3.7-inch touchscreen, paired a set of slide-out QWERTY keys. It also arrives running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, coupled with Sony Ericsson’s TimeScape UI and Facebook Inside Xperia application. Other specifications include an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing videocall cam, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, and up to 32GB of expandable memory.

Update: Sony Ericsson has confirmed to SoMobile that the handset will face delays until Q4 2011.
