Samsung Galaxy Ace gets Android 2.3.3 on Three

July 28th, 2011

Samsung Galaxy AceThree has started rolling-out Android 2.3.3 to its Samsung Galaxy Ace customers, bringing a bunch of new tweaks to the iPhone-styled handset.

That’s according to Three customer Paul Jauncy, who announced on Twitter that he’d received the update. He said, albeit vaguely, “update for #galaxyace downloaded and running ok.”

Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) may not be a major upgrade, but there’s a number of new features worth getting excited about. Chief amongst these is the revamped interface, which promises some tweaks to Samsung‘s TouchWiz UI, a more intuitive onscreen QWERTY keypad, and ‘one touch word selection’ copy and paste.

Samsung Galaxy Ace-wielders will also be treated to a more ‘enhanced’ gaming experience, a speed boost, and improvements to the handset’s battery life – providing an all-round smoother smartphone experience.

To download the update, you’ll need to hook up your handset to Samsung Kies. As always, back up all of your data before installing, and do so over a secure WiFi connection. For further deets, check out Three’s handy guide.
