As its name suggests, the newly-launched Alcatel handset is a rugby-themed phone. According to O2, it comes with “a special cover and come packed with content dedicated to England Rugby team.”
The handset also arrives touting a 2.4-inch (240 x 320) resistive touchscreen, powered by a teeny 104MHz processor. Still, the display offers one-touch access to Facebook and Twitter, alongside a built-in IM client and RSS feed.
On the rear of the handset, you’ll find a below-par 2 megapixel camera, which we’re assuming comes without a flash. Measuring in at a 12.8mm thick, the Alcatel 602 also packs 4MB of internal memory expandable to 8GB, microUSB charging, and an 850mAh battery. Sadly there’s no 3G or WiFi, so you’ll have to make-do with GPRS speeds.
The Alcatel 602 Rugby will be available on O2 from August, and although its pricing is still TBC, it’s unlikely to fetch more than £50.00.
