We spied the handset on the retailers’ Coming Soon page, slapped with an imminent August release date. There’s not yet any word on the handset’s pricing, but expect it to fetch around £35 per month.
Announced yesterday at RIM‘s ‘biggest launch event ever’, the Torch 9860 is the fully-touchscreen sequel to the BlackBerry Storm 2. It certainly ups the ante in terms of specs, touting a 3.7-inch (480 x 800) capacitive touch-panel, powered by a 1.2GHz processor. As you’d expect, it runs BlackBerry OS 7, which delivers Liquid Graphics, voice-activated universal search, a revamped web browser and NFC support.
Also expect to see a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 720p HD video, BlackBerry OS 7, and 32GB of expandable memory. Once it hits shelves later this month, it’ll also be available through O2, Orange and Vodafone.
