The jack-of-all-trades UK retailer is selling the Torch 9810 for £459.99 SIM free, while the fully-touchscreen Torch 9860 costs a lesser £399.99 unlocked. Both handset’s have been given the same October 4 release date, despite earlier expectations for a September release.
Announced alongside the Bold 9900 – which has already gone on sale in the UK – the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is the highly-specced follow-up to the RIM‘s best selling smartphone. It features 3.2-inch (640 x 480) touchscreen, paired with a slide out QWERTY keypad and a 1.2GHz processor. Adopters of the smartphone can also look forward to BlackBerry OS 7, a 5 megapixel camera with HD video, and up to 32GB of memory.
The BlackBerry Torch 9860, on the other hand, is a fully touchscreen handset, acting as the spiritual successor the the BlackBerry Storm 2. It comes sporting a 3.7-inch capacitive touch-panel, a 5 megapixel HD camera, up to 32GB of expandable memory, and all the usual connectivity options (Bluetooth, HSDPA, WiFi).
