August 18th, 2011

Huawei BlazePhones 4u has joined forces with Huawei to exclusively offer its Blaze and Vision smartphones, which look set to be released in Q4 this year.

The UK retailer is the first to secure distribution of Huawei’s flagship Vision smartphone, which it’ll sell alongside the firm’s cheaper Huawei Blaze smartphone (right). There’s not yet word on exact pricing and release date details, but we’ve been in touch with Phones 4u for further information.

The Huawei Vision is the firm’s highest-spec smartphone to date, coming with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and a 1GHz Snapdragon chipset. Other features include a 3.7-inch capacitive touch-panel, 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, Bluetooth 2.1, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, and up to 32GB of expandable memory.

The Blaze, on the other hand, is a mid-range smartphone. Also running Android 2.3, it comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a front-facing video-call camera, 512MB of onboard storage.

Phones 4u Trading Director, Scott Hooton said: “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Huawei to bring our customers an exciting new range of high-end, great value smartphones that offer style as well as substance in time for Christmas. With the new Vision and Blaze devices, it’s clear that Huawei is serious about becoming a key challenger in the competitive smartphone space.

“We’re delighted to be starting this journey with Huawei, which presents a massive opportunity for both companies and more innovation and choice for our customers.”
