A September 1 date has been set Samsung‘s next Mobile Unpacked conference, where the Korean firm is promising that ‘Something Big Is Coming’.
Samsung uploaded a YouTube video – which has since been removed – cryptically confirming a new smartphone launch at the IFA technology show in Berlin. Nothing specific was mentioned as to what we can expect – although Sammy is promising that it will be ‘big’.
We’re putting our money on the firm’s mooted 5.3-inch smartphone/tablet hybrid, which was previously dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Q. According to the online rumour mill, this will arrive running Google’s Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, paired with its 5.3-inch (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED HD screen.
However, there’s also a chance the firm could launch the third-gen Nexus – the rumoured Samsung-made Google Nexus Prime. This’ll purportedly also tout a ‘mammoth-sized’ touchscreen, paired with the same ’1280 x 720′ resolution. Also expect it to feature Android 4.0, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, an ‘advanced’ 5 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video, a video-call shooter, NFC integration, and 4G connectivity over in the States.
Not forgetting, there’s also the rumoured Samsung Galaxy 3D also in the works, apparently.
Update: The video is now working, and you can view it below!
