Nokia has released the long-awaited update for the N8‘s camera application, just days after it received the bump to Symbian Anna.
The update, available for free at the Beta Labs website, adds a bunch of new tweaks to the already-impressive shooter, including support for continuous auto focus and 30fps video recording. Speaking on the Nokia Beta Labs website, the Finns are also promising a sleek new UI to provide ‘camera aficionados faster access to essential controls’.
Over at the Nokia Conversations blog, Damian Dinning, Senior Manager of Smartphones at Nokia said: “Does this make the N8’s camera now perfect? No, I don’t think we can ever reach perfect, but it certainly makes what many regard as the world’s best camera smartphone, even better!”
The Nokia N8 camera bump is now available on handsets running Symbian Anna OS, and be sure to restart your phone after installing.
Update: Uh-oh, we’ve just noticed this update on the Beta Labs blog: “Due to a configuration mistake, the current package is set to record videos at 25 FPS, not at 30 FPS. We are really sorry about this mistake and are working hard to address it. We will update the package very soon with the 30fps functionality enabled, please stay tuned for the update.”
