Yesterday, the network promptly announced its support for the handset, although gave away no details on its pricing or release date. The smartphone’s now been added to Three’s bumper Coming Soon page, confirming that it’s coming to Blighty in September. No exact release date has been given, but we’ve contracted Three for further information.
The Samsung Galaxy W is essentially another cheap alternative to the Galaxy S2, packing a speedy 1.4GHz processor and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. There’s also a decent 3.7-inch S-LCD touchscreen dressed in Sammy’s TouchWiz interface, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing VGA video-call camera, integrated GPS, and HSDPA and WiFi connectivity.
Three’s still to confirm the handset’s pricing, but expect it to land for around £25 per month. It’ll also be available on the network’s popular One Plan, equipping the phone will all-you-can-eat data.
