Update: Vodafone have confirmed that the Torch 9860 will be available from this weekend. Pricing details are still TBC.
While KnowYourMobile claims it’s available to buy from today, we can’t be sure if it’s actually for sale or just a display that went up too early – given that Voda’s still listing Torch 9860 as ‘Coming Soon’. If Play.com is anything to go by, the phone won’t start shipping until October 4.
We’ve been in touch with Vodafone, who claimed that they do not have any updates on the handset’s release date yet. We’re waiting to hear back for further information.
Unlike the Torch 9810, the BlackBerry Torch 9860 is a fully-touchscreen device. It touts a 3.7-inch (480 x 800) capacitive touch-panel, powered by a 1.2GHz processor and the latest version of RIM’s OS: BlackBerry OS 7. This equips the phone with a bunch of new tweaks, including; a boosted web browser, BlackBerry Balance, and NFC support.
Adopters of the Torch 9860 can also look forward to a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 720p HD video, integrated GPS powered by BlackBerry Maps, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, and 32GB of expandable memory.
