The Motorola Fire has been confirmed for a ‘late September’ UK release, matching up nicely with Clove’s earlier prediction.
Giving the handset the official nod earlier this week, Victoria McManus, the UK marketing director of Motorola Mobility said: “We are excited about extending our growing smartphone range in UK, and Motorola Fire opens up new possibilities in the smartphone market.”
In terms of specs, the youth-focussed ‘networking’ smartphone packs a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, paired alongside its set of portrait QWERTY keys. There’s also a mediocre 600MHz processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), Moto’s Switch user interface, a 3 megapixel rear facing camera, up to 32GB of expandable storage, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, and a 1420mAh battery
If Clove was also was on the mark with the handset’s pricing, expect the Fire to fetch £216.00 SIM free. It’s also available to pre-order over at BuyMobilePhones.net, on tariffs with O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. Prices start from a mere £6.81 per month, including 600 minutes, 500 minutes and 500MB of mobile data.
