The official Samsung Bada Twitter account confirmed the good news, saying: “The 2.0 upgrade for Wave devices will be available from 4Q (starting Europe) in different countries gradually”, adding that all Wave devices – including the Wave 525 and Wave 723 – will receive the bump.
However, not everyone will receive all the goodness of Bada 2.0, as Samsung warned that features could differ depending on “device specification such as CPU, memory size, etc.”.
Bada 2.0 was announced last week at IFA in Berlin, and will make its debut on the Samsung Wave 3, Wave M, and Wave Y devices. In terms of features, the OS bump delivers; iOS-style multitasking, NFC support, push notifications, WiFi Direct, voice recognition, enhanced Flash, and HTML5 support. It’ll also equip the phone’s with Sammy’s new ChatON service – a multi-platform messaging service similar to RIM’s BBM and Apple‘s iMessage.
