Samsung‘s newly-announced Windows Phone Mango duo – the Focus S and Focus Flash – won’t be travelling to UK shores, the manufacturer has confirmed.
Speaking to SoMobile, a representative from Samsung Europe has confirmed that the company currently has “no plans” to bring either of these phones to the UK.
That’s no doubt disappointing news for fans of Microsoft’s mobile platform, as the Samsung Focus S couples Windows Phone 7.5 with Galaxy S2-style specifications. Although it lacks the dual-core power of its Android counterpart, the phone comes powered by a hefty 1.4GHz single-core processor, coupled with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen.
Set to land on AT&T over in the States, the super-skinny Focus S also arrives equipped with an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with HD video, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing shooter, and 4G connectivity.
The Samsung Focus Flash is by no means as impressive as its Focus S brother, but it’ll no doubt be a let-down for those eyeing up Samsung’s more-affordable alternative. On the spec-front, the Focus Flash touts a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, a 1.4GHz single-core processor, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, and front-facing video-call camera.
Here’s hoping Sammy has got some goodies in store for us Brits, too.
