HTC Sensation XE launches on O2

October 26th, 2011

HTC Sensation XEIt’s a good day for O2 customers after the HTC Sensation XE, as the UK network has finally launched the Beats Audio smartphone.

Unfortunately, O2’s tariffs aren’t quite as cheap as those at Phones 4U. Still, you can bag yourself a free Sensation XE for a reasonable £36 per month, including 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB data. If you’re willing to cough-up £59.99 for the phone upfront, you can score a cheaper £32 two-year-long contract.

In terms of specs, the HTC Sensation XE is essentially an upgraded version of the original Sensation, boasting a faster 1.5GHz processor and Android 2.35 (Gingerbread) OS. Most excitingly, the handset is HTC’s debut Beats Audio device – set soon to be joined by the Sensation XL – arriving equipped with Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear headphones and custom audio processing hardware and software.

Like the original HTC Sensation, the handset also comes equipped with a 4.3-inch qHD screen, an 8 megapixel primary camera with 1080p HD video, a VGA front-facing shooter, and all of the usual connectivity options (Bluetooth, HSDPA, WiFi).

Head over to O2 to see its full range of tariffs.
