Android 4.0 coming to Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note in Q2 2012

Samsung Galaxy S IISamsung has confirmed that Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will be coming to the majority of its 2011 devices, including the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note.

That’s according to, which claims to have heard from Samsung Italy that the update will be coming in Q2 2012. Owners of the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Tab 7.7, Tab 8.9 and Tab 10.1 can also expect a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich, although it’s not such good news for the original Samsung Galaxy S.

Ice Cream Sandwich will make its debut on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and will bring a host of new features to the Android platform. For example, owners of the Galaxy S2 can look forward to a redesigned interface, complete with brand-new gestures, resizable icons and iOS-style lock-screen functionality.

Android 4.0 also boasts improved multitasking and notifications, a boosted camera UI, Face Unlock, Android Beam NFC support, and a revamped web browser.
