For those who want to be first in line to get their hands on the handset, a special Samsung Galaxy Note Launch will be taking place at the Carphone Warehouse store on Oxford Street in London, from 12:30 today. The retailer is yet to announce its pricing for the monster device, but it has revealed that attendees will get the chance to win £10,000 worth of Samsung kit.
Phones 4u, on the other hand, has already outed its pricing for the tablet/smartphone hybrid. If you’re after a free Galaxy Note, you’ll have to sign commit to a two-year-long £41 contract, which comes with 900 minutes, 3000 texts and a reasonable 1GB of mobile data. Alternatively you can pay-up £79 to get your hands on the smartphone, which’ll bag you a cheaper £36 tariff.
The Samsung Galaxy Note‘s 5.3-inch screen won’t appeal to everybody, but it’s an excellent device for those after a minature tablet. Running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) – with an update to Android 4.0 already confirmed – the Note comes dressed in a tweaked version of TouchWiz UI, complete with support for Samsung’s new S Pen.
There’s also a decent 1.4GHz dual-core processor, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2 megapixel front-facing shooter, and a 2500 mAh battery.
