It looks like the Edge isn’t the only quad-core phone HTC‘s got hiding up its sleeve, as images of the so-called HTC Zeta have also emerged.
The HTC Edge leaked last week packing an impressive 1.5GHz Tegra 3 chipset, but that seems mere in comparison to the Zeta’s mooted 2.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 processor. According to Engadget, who published got their hands on an image (right) of the jaw-dropping device, this will come powered with 1GB RAM and the latest version of Google’s mobile software – Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
The leaked specs suggest the HTC Zeta will also arrive touting a 4.5-inch 720p screen dressed in HTC Sense 4.0, an 8 megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p HD video, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, Beats Audio, a 1830mAh battery and an impressive 32GB of included storage.
Measuring in at 109 x 60.9 x 9.8mm with a weight of 146g, the Zeta’s design is as exciting as its spec sheet. Although it appears to rock HTC’s signature unibody design, the Zeta sports unusual sharp corners and a stupidly-thin bezel surrounding its 4.5-inch touchscreen. However, this also seems to suggest that the phone is little more than a concept device, but we’ve got everything crossed that its the firm’s 2012 flagship.
If the HTC Zeta does in fact exist, expect to see a launch at February’s Mobile World Congress.
