BlackBerry Bold 9790 priced on pay monthly tariffs

January 11th, 2012

BlackBerry Bold 9790It’s good news for those of you not keen on handing over £400 for RIM‘s newest BlackBerry Bold, as the phone has finally been priced on pay monthly plans.

That’s thanks to retailer, who are now offering the Bold 9790 handset on deals with O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. You can now pre-order the smartphone from a more-than-reasonable £18.81 per month, which gets you a free BlackBerry with 100 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB of mobile data.

However, we’re still none the wiser on the handset’s release date. Back in December, MobileFun claimed that the phone would start shipping on January 9, although this ETA has since been removed, and replaced simply with “available soon”.

If a lack of release date hasn’t put you off, here’s a quick recap of the handset’s specs. The BlackBerry Bold 9790 touts a decent 2.4-inch touchscreen display, paired with RIM’s typically-styled Bold QWERTY keypad and a 1GHz single-core processor. There’s also BlackBerry OS 7 onboard, 8GB of built-in memory with room to expand, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and fast HSDPA and WiFi connectivity.

We’ll bring you more details on the handset’s availability as soon as we get them, but expect it to land within the next couple of weeks.
