Apple Store to open in London’s Harrods

January 20th, 2012

HarrodsIt’s as if London’s Covent Garden just isn’t swanky enough for Apple any more, as the Cupertino technology-giant is reportedly planning to launch a new outlet in the city’s world-famous Harrods department store.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple’s newest UK venture “will fit in well within the Harrod’s surroundings”, blending in nicely with the world-famous architecture. However, you’ll still find the usual array of Apple gadgets, iPad-dressed tables and Shoreditch-types in blue-coloured t-shirts.

It won’t arrive boasting all of the usual features, though, as the store will reportedly be lacking Apple’s usual Genius Bar set-up, because the firm supposedly wants “to keep that marquee aspect of the retail operations exclusive to its standalone locations. ”

There’s no exact word as to when Apple plans to launch its store in the renowned department store, but we’ll bring you more details as soon as we get them.
