Apple is rumoured to be discontinuing the iPhone 3GS in March this year, despite the handset’s continued popularity.
Apple’s iPhone 3Gs is still available to buy along with the new iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 handsets, althoughOrange has listed the 3GS as an ‘end of life device’, hinting that the device will soon be discontinued. Either that, or they’re making way for a new device, maybe the rumoured iPhone 5.
We’re not surprised the handset’s still popular, as the iPhone 3GS touts a 3.5-inch widescreen multi-touch display with a 480-by-320-pixel resolution at 163 ppi, a 3-megapixel still camera, a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and 3G and WiFi connectivity. These are just some of the many great timeless features, and the handset is truly one of Apple’s greatest achievements to date.
I’m sure whether it stays or sets sale to the junk yard or remains a best-selling PAYG handset, the iPhone 3GS will be yet another faithful pocketable companion to both new and old Apple followers.
