The image was published by Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin on his official Twitter account, alongside the words “Barcelona. Samsung. Press photo leaked”. Of course, this gives us little idea as to what we’re actually looking at here, although all signs are pointing towards the S2 Plus.
Leaked yesterday, the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus is rumoured to launch as an updated version of Sammy’s S2 flagship, sporting the same 4.3-inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen and upgraded 1.5GHz dual-core innards. The phone in the image certainly looks a lot like Samsung’s super-slim Galaxy S2 handset, although its capacitive keys have clearly been updated to support Android 4.0 ICS – a feature we’d expect from the improved model.
So, what else can we expect from the handset in question? Yesterday’s whispers suggest it’ll feature near identical specs to its last-gen sibling, including the same 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing video call camera, 16GB of built-in memory and fast HSDPA and WiFi connectivity. If the leaked image does in fact depict the mooted Galaxy S2 Plus, we can also expect it to launch in both black and white flavours.
Expect to hear more at Mobile World Congress.
