Aimed at Facebook-addicted teens on a budget, the Samsung Tocco Lite 2 – also confusingly known as the Samsung Star 3 – places heavy emphasis on social networking, arriving complete with Sammy’s ChatON Instant Messenger and included Facebook and Twitter applications. These can be accessed via phone’s 3-inch 320 x 240 touchscreen, which sits within a slender 11.5 mm frame.
The successor to Samsung’s 30-million-selling Tocco Lite will also arrive rocking a 3.2 megapixel fixed focus camera, up to 16GB of expandable memory, WiFi connectivity, and a 1000mAh battery.
Simon Stanford, UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division commented: “Our range of Tocco devices have been among our best selling over the past few years. Thanks to the incredible response we’ve had to the original Tocco Lite and Tocco Icon handsets, we’re excited to now be offering our customers improved social networking and enhanced multimedia capabilities with the Tocco Lite 2.”
“Our aim with this new handset is to build on the features we know our customers enjoy and find useful by providing greater synergy between their mobile handset and their social networks, and in doing so, giving them more ways to stay in touch with their friends and loved ones when they’re on the move.”
The Samsung Tocco Lite 2 will be available in the UK from March, across a range of the “UK’s major networks and retailers”.
