Besides a vague March release date, T-Mobile hasn’t released any further details on the handset’s availability, although assuming it’ll be available on the network’s much-hyped Full Monty tariff. If so, T-Mo customers can expect to pick-up a free Xperia S on a 24 month £36 plan, including unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile minutes, 2,000 any network minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited monthly data. Unless Three offer the phone on its truly-unlimited One Plan for cheaper, this sounds like one of the best deals that will be available.
The Sony Xperia S, announced back at CES in January, is a pretty impressive piece of kit. A 4.3-inch HD screen sits within the handset’s quirky angular casing, alongside a whopping 12 megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Android 2.3 is also onboard, as well as Sony’s typical custom overlay, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 1080p HD video functionality, integrated NFC technology and a 1730mAh battery.
We’ve been in touch with T-Mobile for some more detailed info on the handset’s release, but expect the phone to hit pre-order within the next few weeks.
