Samsung has sent invitations to the press for an event on the 15th March 2012, to be held in Amsterdam, where the company will be showcasing its 2012 line-up.
Given that Samsung has decided not to release its next-gen flagship handset at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, the web is rife with rumours that the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy S3 could make an appearance at the March 15 event.
So what we can expect from this new high-end smart phone? Supposedly a 4.6-inch HD-ready curved AMOLED screen, a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor (or the new Exynos 5210 Cortex A15 SoC), 1GB or 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB onboard storage, a 12-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 4.0, a 7mm profile, a waterproof sheild, a microSD card slot and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It will also introduce lots of new features and updates such as better task management, facial recognition unlock, live effects for video, advanced NFC sharing features and improved email and web browser, so it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be a front runner in the ever-growing smartphone market.
The mooted iPad 3 is also expected to be launched mid-March, so there’s a chance that Apple‘s tablet will be launched at the same time or very near to Sammy’s March 15 showcase.
