Acer Liquid Glow official with Android Ice Cream Sandwich

February 29th, 2012

Acer Liquid GlowAcer has officially announced the Liquid Glow, a cheap alternative to its CloudMobile handset.

As the company prematurely-revealed last week, the Acer Liquid Glow sports a 3.7-inch capacitive touch panel, skinned in Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software.

“The Liquid Glow brings together the power and the convenience of Ice Cream Sandwich, providing a user-friendly interface along with widgets to easily stay connected, entertained and updated”, Acer explains in an official press release. “It also works with the latest voice-input engine from Google, which guarantees a continuous “open microphone” experience and streaming voice recognition.”

Within its curvaceous casing you’ll find Qualcomm 7227a 1GHz, 512MB RAM, and an integrated NFC chip. This enables you to take advantage of Ice Cream Sandwiches Android Beam NFC feature, which means you can share content with other Android 4.0 handsets with a single tap. You’ll also find a 5 megapixel camera on the rear of the handset capable of shooting HD video and 1GB of included storage.

The Acer Liquid Glow will make it way to UK shores, in Sakura Pink, Alpine White, and Cat’s-eye Black flavours. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but we’ve been in touch with Acer for further information.
