O2 has confirmed that it’ll be selling the HTC One X from April 5, which means the phone will be arriving in stores in just 3 week’s time.

In response to an inquisitive customer, O2 Tweeted: “Hi Nicole, we’re not due to get the HTC until 5th April so no decision on tariffs yet”. This is the first official UK release date that we’ve received for the handset, and it’s likely other networks will follow suit too.

The HTC One X, which has just gone up for pre-order at Phones 4u, is HTC’s flagship 2012 device. That’s not surprising considering its specs, which include a mega-speedy 1.5GHz quad-core processor and a whopping 4.7-inch HD touchscreen – which will no doubt appeal to a wide range of customers.

It also features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, HTC Sense 4. an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a front-facing webcam, Beats Audio and 32GB of included storage.
