While the Nokia Lumia 900 has landed in the UK to a pretty welcoming market, little has been heard about the Finnish phone giant’s latest budget offering – the Lumia 610. The silence surrounding the phone has now been broken, however, and Nokia have stated that we can expect to see the phone released in early June.
The Lumia 610 is a more modest phone than the recent Lumia 900, featuring an 800MHz processor, 256MB RAM, 8GB of internal storage (non-expandable) and a 5MP camera. All this runs on the ever-colourful Windows Phone 7.5.
Potential buyers of the phone will be happy to hear that the recently-released ‘Tango’ update for Windows Phone has been designed with the Lumia 610 in mind, optimising the OS to run smoothly with the phone. The update also features additional options for MMS and Video-messaging.
While no contract prices have been announced by any of the networks just yet, Nokia have said that average price plans should be around £15 for 24 months.
