ZTE have been making some serious inroads in the UK smartphone market of late. The Chinese manufacturer stamped down its authority on the entry-level end of the smartphone market with the £50 ZTE Kis, and now they’re looking to make an impression in the higher end of the spectrum with the ZTE Grand X.
it looks like they’ll soon have a chance to test out the gaming-focused handset, as Phones 4U have announced that they”ll be stocking the phone today, with buyers automatically being entered into a competition to win tickets to see a Professor Green gig. Winners also get exclusive Professor Green back covers to the phone, though why you’d want a musicians glum face on the back of your phone is a mystery to me.
The Grand X has an impressive roster of features, including a Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual-core processor, a 4.3″ display, 4GB of storage (expandable up to 32GB), and a 5MP camera with flash. All of this is set to run smoothly on Android 4.0.
ZTE have always had a reputation for delivering quality handsets at affordable prices. With the current economic climate, it’s a better time than any for them to get a foothold in the UK smartphone market.
