While the latest Apple-Samsung patent infringement trial is indicative of the fact that the major phone manufacturers are petty squabblers (with a lot of money), one good thing to be coming out of it is a plethora of interesting information courtesy of court documents.
Following up on yesterday’s leak that Samsung are planning to release two Windows Phone 8 handsets – the Odyssey and the Marco – by the end of the year, court documents obtained by The Verge have now also revealed that Samsung are working on an 11.8″ tablet with a Retina display.
The tablet looks set to pack a 2560 x 1600px resolution, and all we know of its name for now is that it’s called the P10.
This leak all but confirms the rumours that Samsung have been working on a new tablet to rival the iPad 3 for some time now. News of a larger Samsung Tab first broke last year, when it was thought that the device would be revealed at the Mobile World Congress 2012, but since then it has mostly been in hiding.
With Samsung allegedly working on a Galaxy Note 10.1 and now a Galaxy Tab 11.8, it seems that the Korean manufacturer is determined to knock the iPad off its mile-high perch.
